Aurum Dust, die Entwickler von Ash of Gods, haben einen Story-Trailer veröffentlicht, der zeigt, wie die einst friedliche Welt von Terminus durch den Beginn der ‘Großen Ernte’ entwurzelt wird. In dem Taktik-Rollenspiel, das nach eigenen Angaben von The Banner Saga, Darkest Dungeon sowie japanischen Visual Novels inspirierte wurde, versucht man die Dunkelheit und den Tod zu stoppen, die das Land heimsuchen. Im Laufe der Geschichte wird man zahlreiche Entscheidungen treffen, welche die Story, das Leben der Charaktere und das Ende beeinflussen sollen. Es ist die Rede von “Roguelike”-Storytelling.

“Stell dir ein Märchen vor, ein Buch oder einen Film, in dem du nicht nur den Abenteuern deines Helden folgst, sondern außerdem alle geheimen Räume öffnest, die Leichen aus jedermanns Keller holst und Geschichten aufdeckst, über die sich ein Mantel des Schweigens gelegt hat”, sagt Sergey Malitsky, Autor von Ash of Gods. “Du kannst nicht nur einen Helden davor bewahren, unnötige Risiken einzugehen oder unerwünschte Handlungen zu vollziehen. Du kannst sie ebenso in Gefahr bringen und sie den (…) Wirrungen des Schicksals aussetzen. (…) Und das bedeutet, dass ein glücklicher Ausgang auch dann nicht garantiert ist, wenn er in Sichtweite ist.”

Ash of Gods soll neben rundenbasierten Kämpfen auch Roguelike- und Kartenelemente enthalten – sowie PvP-Elemente im Multiplayer. Auf Zufallsfaktoren wie Würfelglück soll hingegen verzichtet werden. Das Spiel wird voraussichtlich im März 2018 für PC erscheinen.

  1. Habs mir gerade von GOG geholt. Muss sagen, dass ich es deutluch besser als Banner Saga finde, allerdings hab ich erst eine Stunde gespielt. Dennoch... Und ich hoffe auf noch mehr!
