Im Jahr 2006/07 arbeitete der Deathloop– & Dishonored-Entwickler Arkane Studios an einer Zusatz-Episode zu Half-Life 2. Was aus dem Projekt “Ravenholm” wurde, verrät eine spannende, einstündige Doku.

Das Projekt NoClip bastelt aus Crowdfunding-Kohle spannende Spiele-Dokumentationen, z.B. über Among Us, Demon’s Souls oder Alien Isolation – all das gibt es regelmäßig auf YouTube zu sehen. Und die neueste Ausgabe dreht sich eben um das Projekt Ravenholm, das eigentlich eine Zusatzepisode bzw. ein Spin-off zu Valves legendärem Shooter Half-Life 2 sein sollte.

Ursprünglich arbeitete Warren Spectors Studio Junction Point an der Ravenholm-Episode, danach ging das Projekt an Arkane. Bereits 2012 hatte Half-Life-Autor Marc Laidlaw über Arkanes Pläne und die Gründe für die Einstellung berichtet, doch jetzt sehen wir endlich, was wir vielleicht verpasst haben. NoClip zeigen massig Spielszenen, erläutern das Elektrizitätssystem und es gibt auch ein paar richtig schaurig-düstere Abschnitte – was ja nach dem Original-Level in Ravenholm geradezu auf der Hand lag…

Doch bevor wir uns jetzt darin ergehen, den Inhalt des Videos in Text aufzudröseln, seht selbst wie Arkanes Half-Life-2-Episode Ravenholm vielleicht ausgesehen hätte.

    Jetzt kann es doch echt nicht mehr lange dauern... Alyx VR war IMO irgendwie eine gute Geschichte, allerdings mit experimenteller Technik. Mich hat AVR damals echt gebrainfu****, hab mir direkt die Index gekauft, das Game gezockt und anschließend die Index mit Verlust wegen schwitzen, Druck auf dem Kopf und Stolperverkabelung wieder veräußert. Wäre mal wieder an der Zeit für einen prägenden, richtungsweisenden, anständigen SP-Shooter!
