Der an Heretic und Hexen angelehnte Oldschool-Shooter Amid Evil soll am 12. März 2018 in den Early Access auf Steam starten, wie Entwickler Indefatigable und Publisher New Blood Interactive bekannt geben. Der Preis wird mit 20 Dollar angegeben.

Als technischer Unterbau dient die Unreal Engine 4 und für den Soundtrack zeichnet Andrew Hulshult verantwortlich. Zur angepeilten Länge der Early-Access-Phase liegen bislang keine Information vor. Inhaltlich sollen aber bereits drei der insgesamt sieben Kampagnen-Episoden sowie der “Hordes of Evil” genannte Endlos-Modus spielbar sein. Hier aktuelle Spielszenen aus Letzterem:

  1. Endlich. Nach DUSK der zweite Knaller von New Blood. Mit DUSK, AMID EVIL und Ion Maiden siehts im Moment wirklich gut aus, was old-school-Ballereien angeht; neben einigen anderen wie zb. Apocryph und Hellbound. Ich denke mal, der Preis wird wie bei DUSK bei 17 Euro liegen.
    AMID EVIL ist mehr Heretic wie HeXen; zb. keine auswählbaren Klassen, und das Leveldesign ist bei weitem nicht so kryptisch wie in HeXen-Beyond Heretic, und, schlimmer noch, HeXen II. Keine Ahnung was Raven da damals geraucht hat, als sie diese Level entworfen haben (in HeXen II).
